I have been watching and re-watching everything from Studio Ghibli since "Spirited Away" blew my mind as a teenager. It was great binging all the films again as I worked on this painting. I especially love how many of them really take their time with quiet little moments things- like Ponyo making Ramen, or Nausicaä encountering an Ohmu shell and carefully removing a piece. So well done.

I tried to fit in all my favourite characters and elements from the films as I could, but at some point I just had to stop or make it 3x the size.
